Peridot

Peridot has been celebrated for over 4000 years, adorning jewelry of the pharaohs and representing one of the 12 tribes of Israel. The Hawaiian people believed peridot to be the tears of the goddess Pele. The Romans called it "Evening Emerald" because its brilliant color did not fade in lamp light, but glowed in the evening hours. Peridot was thought to help dreams become reality.

Arizona peridot is hand hewn from the Peridot Mesa on the San Carlos Reservation. It's a point of pride for the Apache nation and the most popular source of domestic peridot. This energetic green gemstone is symbolic of August birthdays and those born under the zodiac sign of Libra. It is often used to celebrate the first and 16th wedding anniversary.
